Types of Swimming Lessons Offered

Queenstown Swimming Complex offers the public swimming pool, but we know that some families prefer private swimming lessons for kids. Private swimming lessons for adults are also available. Some women feel more at ease if they are able to get the instruction from another woman. This is the reason we have special swimming lessons for ladies.

The SwimSafer programme is a recent addition. Introduced in July of 2010 by the National Water Safety Council along with support from Singapore Sports council, this program offers well rounded group swimming lessons for kids. It teaches children how to act safely while in the water as they learn to swim.

The SwimSafer programme has 7 stages. Stage 1 is the introduction to the water skills that children must learn in order to be confident and independent during the time that they are in water. The child feels comfortable, can easily learn about general water safety. They will be instructed on how to enter the pool and exit it safely. The Swimming coach teaches them how to make their way around the swimming pool.

Stage 2 of the swimming program teaches the basic water skills. The young people will learn to get into the pool on their own and all about surface dives. During stage 3, needed skills in stroke development are taught. Personal water survival is the main focus of stage 3.

There are many different types of swimming classes going on at the Queenstown Swimming Complex, running from afternoon and into the evening. Contact us for information on the right swimming class for you.
